Wall Thickness is a project exploring the technology of inflating 3D-printed PLA objects. The project examines how variable wall thickness within the printed object can serve as the mold itself. Thick areas retain their shape and define the structure, while thin areas soften in hot water and inflate under air pressure. The mold and the object are produced in a single manufacturing process. The choice of a lamp highlights the outcome: when the light is turned on, the product gains an added presence.
